When you invest your time, you make a goal and a decision of something that you want to accomplish. Whether it’s make good grades in school, be a good athlete, be a good person, go down and do some community service and help somebody who’s in need, whatever it is you choose to do, you’re investing your time in that.
Being in a community, from a scientific perspective, we are constituted so that simple acts of kindness, such as giving to charity or expressing gratitude, have a positive effect on our long-term moods. The key to the happy life, it seems, is the good life: a life with sustained relationships, challenging work, and connections to community.
Going to a boring job can really kill all the above mentioned contributors to a good life. It got me thinking, how can we solve this? If we own a part of business and promote people to own businesses, then we are creating a path of true sustainability.
Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together. Why can’t we extend this concept to start-ups and any business for that matter?
When you work on a piece of information that in the end is used by a customer of a company (directly and indirectly), you are generating money for the business.
When you invest your time, you make a goal and a decision of something that you want to accomplish. Whenever we pray alone, study, read, write, or simply spend quiet time away from the places where we interact with each other directly, we are potentially opened for a deeper intimacy with each other.
